A multi-part comprehensive bill which includes the following:
○ The Mahsa Amini Human Rights and Security Accountability Act (MAHSA Act). Global Magnitsky Sanctions which places sanctions on Supreme Leader, President, the top IRI leadership, all of IRGC that can be named, and pro-execution Parliamentarians. The bill also facilitates access to telecommunications tools and technology, as well as relief, in support of the resistance movement on the ground.
○ The Mohsen Omid and Hamid Stop Executions Now Act (MOHSEN Act).
The first ever targeted sanctions on spouses and adult children of regime officials.
○ The No Incarceration for Knowledge Accountability Act (NIKA Act).
This act aims to extend amnesty from criminal and financial liability in exchange for credible evidence of Human Rights violations or illicit sanctions circumvention activities.
(**Leaves open civil liability for private litigation, for example, if families of victims want to sue them)
This new legislation fights Iran’s illicit oil trade through secondary sanctions on all entities and persons involved in illegal oil blending schemes.
